Anne’s passion is helping disadvantaged kids become all that they can be. She wants them to know their options and be given the hand up they deserve.
In 2004, Anne founded the Challenge Youth Fund, an organization under the Arizona Community Foundation. The mission of Lorimor’s fund is to help children and youth reach their full potential and, in turn, to make a difference in the world. The fund cooperates with other organizations to offer education and mentoring opportunities to underserved children and teens with an emphasis in helping foster and orphaned children, as well as homeless youth.
For this specific outreach of the KiliClimb for Kids, my Challenge Youth Fund will designate donations given over the next 6 months to a new piano lab for Rosie’s House, a music academy that provides free music instruction to over 400 deserving kids in Phoenix. There are 120 kids in the piano program. For every student at Rosie’s house there are 4 more on a waiting list. The cost of the piano lab is $50,000. This will enable Rosie’s house to better serve current students and allow more students the opportunity to grow through music. Incorporating discipline, good grades and character development through their very qualified teacher/mentors, 97% of their high school graduates of 2014 went on to college.
